The federal high court has announced the death of Mohammed Yunusa, one of its serving judges.
The court confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday by Catherine-Oby, its director of information in Abuja.
According to the statement, Justice Yunusa died on Thursday after a brief illness at the Kano State Medical Centre.
It added that the late judge has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
The court described him as a distinguished jurist who served with dedication, integrity, and strong commitment to justice delivery in Nigeria.
It noted that his contributions to the bench, the legal profession, court staff, and colleagues would be remembered with respect and appreciation.
The chief judge, management, and staff of the Federal High Court extended condolences to his family, praying for strength for them to bear the loss.
They also prayed that Almighty God forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
