Female Naval Officer Allegedly Dies After Punishment by Superior in Lagos

A disturbing allegation involving the Nigerian Navy has sparked outrage online after reports emerged that a female naval personnel, identified as WO Yusuf, allegedly d+ed after being subjected to p¥nishment by her superior officer in Lagos State.

According to a viral account shared on X, the incident reportedly happened at the Nigerian Navy sick bay located in Gowon Estate, Ipaja, within Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos.

The post alleged that WO Yusuf was absent from duty on May 19, 2026, but returned to work the following day. Upon resuming, she was reportedly summoned by her Officer in Charge (OIC), Lt. Commander ST Abashim, and questioned over her absence.

WO Yusuf explained that she had been battling health challenges and was still feeling weak, stating that she needed medical attention and treatment.

However, the account claimed that her explanation did not satisfy her superior, who allegedly ordered her to perform extra labour under the scorching sun as punishment.

During the exercise, WO Yusuf reportedly became dizzy, experienced blurred vision, and appeared close to collapsing. Despite her condition, the post claimed that she was locked in a ward without immediate medical attention on the orders of the superior officer.

It was further claimed that she passed away about an hour later while in detention.
