‎Tension has gripped Idumebo quarters Ekpoma in Esan West local government area of Edo state, following the tragic death of a businessman simply identified as Mr. Jusewayne, the Chief Executive Officer of Principle Takeout.

‎Jusewayne was reportedly killed on Saturday night during a failed kidnap attempt.

‎The incident is reported to have thrown the Idumebo area of the town into mourning, as residents woke up to the shocking news of his death.

‎Blueprint gathered that the suspected gunmen had attempted to abduct the businessman, but the operation went awry, resulting in his death under circumstances yet to be fully clarified by authorities.

‎The deceased was described by residents and associates as a peaceful and hardworking entrepreneur, whose sudden demise has left the community in grief.


‎Meanwhile, tension initially heightened in the town following the circulation of planned protest flyers on social media in response to the incident.

‎The development reportedly prompted the deployment of security personnel to strategic locations across Ekpoma to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

‎Blueprint gathered that as of Sunday morning, normalcy appeared to have returned, with residents reportedly attending church services and going about their usual activities.

‎The Edo state police command spokesman, ASP Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the incident, adding that investigations were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
