Bature stated that Kwankwaso’s political behaviour has raised questions about his true allegiance, especially given his shifting alignments within Nigeria’s political landscape.
He claimed that despite Kwankwaso’s current position in the NDC, there are indications that his activities align more with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) strategy going forward.
According to him, these developments suggest a behind-the-scenes cooperation that is not publicly acknowledged.
The spokesperson made the comments during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, where he discussed political developments in Kano State and the broader national political environment.
During the programme, he reiterated that his observations were based on his understanding of events that took place before and after the 2023 general elections.
He maintained that his position was informed by political history within the state.
Bature further alleged that Kwankwaso’s recent political decisions, including his movement within party structures, do not align with his public declarations.
He suggested that Kwankwaso’s alleged actions contradict his current political standing, particularly in relation to his relationship with both the APC and the Kano State government.
He also referenced earlier political engagements involving Governor Abba Yusuf and President Tinubu, suggesting they were part of broader political arrangements.
He also stated that the political developments in Kano ahead of the 2027 election cycle indicate ongoing strategic positioning among major political actors.
According to him, the interactions between key figures show that alliances are still fluid, and that some decisions taken publicly may not reflect actual political intentions.
He maintained that these movements point to deeper negotiations taking place outside public view.
Bature maintained that, based on his perspective as a member of the opposition in Kano and his knowledge of past political events, the current situation reflects a continuation of earlier political patterns.
He insisted that the dynamics surrounding Kwankwaso’s involvement in national politics and his relationship with different political blocs suggest a hidden alignment with President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“I’m a member of the APC and have been a member of the opposition in Kano and I know what happened in 2023. I believe that Kwankwaso is working for Tinubu in 2027 behind the scene,” he added.
