A man has sparked widespread reactions online after criticizing his estate’s decision to replace male security guards with two female guards at the main gate.
The unidentified man shared his concerns in a humorous social media post, stating that he no longer feels safe since the security change was introduced days ago.
According to him, he initially assumed the presence of the female guards was temporary until he realized the arrangement was permanent.
Resident questions estate security decision
In the viral post, the resident said the estate previously experienced occasional theft incidents even while male guards were in charge, adding that the new development had made him uncomfortable.
“My estate replaced the gate security from men to two women and I haven’t felt safe since. Nobody should use my life and play gender equality with me. As an upcoming Alpha male, I cannot sleep comfortably with women watching over me.”
The man further revealed that although he rarely attends estate association meetings, he now plans to participate in the next gathering scheduled for Saturday to raise his concerns before other residents.
Social media users react to viral post
The post quickly generated mixed reactions online, with many users laughing at the resident’s dramatic tone while others defended female security personnel, arguing that professionalism matters more than gender.
Some commenters also pointed out that women have successfully served in military, police and private security positions across Nigeria and other countries.
In recent years, several Nigerian estates and organizations have increasingly employed female security officers as part of broader workplace inclusion and gender representation efforts.
