“I confessed to being a witch because I was hungry” – Woman shares hilarious childhood deliverance experience

A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after sharing a hilarious childhood experience involving strict parenting, school truancy, and a dramatic church deliverance session.

According to her, the incident began after her father allegedly spotted her hanging out with friends during school hours on a school day.

Realising she had been seen, she quickly returned to school before heading home with her sisters to avoid suspicion.

In her words, she recounted:

“My father caught me somewhere with my friends on a school day during school hours. He looked at me and passed. I knew I was dead.”

The woman explained that despite repeatedly denying the accusation at home, her father remained convinced that he had seen her outside during school hours.

Her sisters, who were unaware she had sneaked out earlier, defended her because they all returned home together.

She further revealed that the incident eventually led her parents to believe she needed spiritual deliverance because they felt she had a “lying spirit” and “seductive spirit” after developing physically at a young age.

“I remember they cooked jollof rice that day. Around 4pm, I told myself to just agree that I was a witch so they could let me go home and eat,” she added.

The story has since gone viral on social media, with many users reacting with laughter while others shared similar childhood experiences involving strict African parenting and church deliverance sessions.

Many commenters described the story as both funny and relatable, with some admitting they also confessed to things they never did just to avoid punishment or prolonged prayers.
