The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi confirmed the injuries, stating that it is coordinating with local authorities to ensure medical care and welfare.
The UAE said its air defence systems successfully intercepted ballistic and cruise missiles, though Iran has not officially responded to the allegations.
According to the UAE defence ministry, four cruise missiles were detected, with three intercepted and one falling into the sea. Civil defence teams swiftly contained the blaze at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone.
Several countries, including Qatar, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, along with the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union, condemned the suspected Iranian attack.
Amid heightened hostilities, US President Donald Trump warned that Iran would be “blown off the face of the earth” if US Navy vessels were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US military denied Iranian claims of striking a naval frigate and said it had sunk several Iranian boats attempting to disrupt shipping. Danish firm Maersk confirmed safe passage of a US-flagged vessel under naval escort.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, “events in Hormuz make clear that there’s no military solution to a political crisis”, adding that “talks are making progress” with Pakistan mediating efforts.
