Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi could visit India to attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in May, ahead of the annual gathering of emerging-market leaders in July this year, sources told News18.

Araghchi was last in India in May 2025 for a two-day trip in which he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.

The upcoming visit comes soon after Araghchi went to Beijing to meet his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

India is chairing the BRICS meeting for the fourth time this year. The group brings together leaders of 10 global south nations, including Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and UAE.
