JAMB Releases 279 Previously Withheld 2026 UTME Results After Investigation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were earlier withheld for further investigation.

The examination body confirmed that the affected candidates can now access their results after the completion of investigations surrounding suspected examination irregularities and verification concerns.

The withheld results were part of a wider review process conducted by JAMB following the release of the 2026 UTME results nationwide. According to the board, some results were temporarily withheld over issues related to alleged malpractice, biometric verification problems, and other examination infractions.

JAMB has consistently maintained a strict stance against examination misconduct, warning candidates against score manipulation, impersonation, and the use of unauthorized digital tools during examinations.

The board recently disclosed that it was monitoring several cases involving attempts to alter UTME scores online, stressing that any candidate found guilty of malpractice would face sanctions in line with examination regulations.

The release of the 279 results is seen as a relief for many affected candidates who had been waiting for the outcome of the board’s review process. Candidates whose results have now been cleared are expected to proceed with admission screening and other tertiary institution requirements.

JAMB also advised candidates to continue checking their results through its official channels using the phone numbers linked to their UTME registration.

The board reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency, fairness, and credibility in Nigeria’s tertiary admission process while promising to continue investigating any suspicious examination activities.
