The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 results from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that were previously withheld over suspected examination malpractice.
JAMB disclosed this on Thursday through Fabian Benjamin, its spokesperson who said the decision followed an extensive review of flagged cases across various examination centres nationwide.
According to the board, some candidates were cleared after investigations showed no evidence linking them to any wrongdoing, while other results remained under scrutiny pending the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
Benjamin explained that results linked to centres where suspicious activities were detected by JAMB’s monitoring team, or where the board received adverse reports, would continue to remain withheld until investigations are concluded.
He added that any candidate found culpable after the review process would have their results cancelled in line with examination regulations.
The board advised candidates who are yet to access their results to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
The 2026 UTME was conducted between April 16 and April 25 at accredited computer-based test centres across the country.
