Another political heavyweight has been knocked out of the 2027 race as former Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Bauchi State.
The primary election, held on Saturday, ended with former Governor Mohammed Abubakar emerging as the party’s flagbearer after a decisive victory over Tuggar and five other aspirants.
The exercise was conducted under the platform of the All Progressives Congress as part of preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
