How much is Favourite Chef USA prize money?

The package includes a feature in Taste of Home magazine, an opportunity to cook alongside celebrity chef Carla Hall, and a cash prize of $25,000 (KSh 3.2 million).

Mabola now joins a growing list of Kenyan culinary talents gaining global recognition, including Robie Too (Robinson K. Maritim) and Pamela Mburo, popularly known as Pam Zee, who have also earned attention beyond Kenya’s borders.

Too, who developed his passion for cooking by watching his mother, was recognised as a top contender in the 2025 Favorite Chef Competition and highlighted for reaching the top 15 category.

Pamela, on the other hand, competed in the 2024 and 2025 editions and appeared in the competition hosted by Carla Hall.

As the competition gains momentum, supporters are rallying behind Mabola, hopeful that his creativity and Kenyan-inspired culinary flair could see him emerge as one of the standout chefs on the international stage.

Kenyan chef attempts to break Guinness World Record

Back home, chef Dorky Dorcas attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to make three chapatis.

In the viral video shared on her social media, Dorcas had a full setup with a crew, including two people timing her cooking and cheering her on.

Within two minutes and 26 seconds, she managed to prepare the dough, roll it out, and cook all three chapatis, leaving many who watched her in awe.

In a subsequent video, she explained that she made three attempts and didn’t give up until she finally broke the world record.
