A high school student from Kericho County who had reportedly dropped out of school due to lack of fees has received a fresh chance at education after a local leader stepped in to support him.

Victor Kipkirui, a young boy from a humble background in Waldai Ward, had been staying at home after his family failed to raise the money needed to keep him in school.
Daktari Kelvin Kipchirchir Ufa told NGBREAKINGNEWS that his situation came to public attention during a church service attended by Aaron Cheruiyot, where residents appealed for help.

Members of the community urged the Senator to intervene and assist the boy in continuing with his studies, describing Victor as bright and determined despite the financial hardship facing his family.
Their appeal appears to have borne fruit as Victor has now officially reported to Chumo Boarding School after Cheruiyot cleared his school requirements, ending months of uncertainty over his education.
Speaking on the matter, the well-wisher assured residents that the support would not stop at secondary school.
“Huyu kijana nimeshika namsomesha hadi university,” he said, promising to sponsor Victor’s education through to university.
Residents said the sponsorship means the student will no longer struggle with school fees, giving the him a second chance in life.
The gesture has drawn praise from members of the public, many applauding the Senator for responding swiftly and honouring the promise made to the community.
“Kazi safi Mwesh. Education is the key wow thanks for sponsoring the boy,” commented Emmanuel Kibet.
