The official handover ceremony was on Monday, May 25, drawing residents, local leaders and well-wishers from across the county.

For residents who watched Mama Caroline struggle through difficult conditions, the new house represents more than just bricks and iron sheets. It symbolises dignity, safety and renewed hope.

The housing initiative is part of a broader effort to uplift vulnerable families and restore dignity to those living in hardship.

It focuses on social transformation by improving the living conditions of disadvantaged members of society, especially those unable to afford decent housing on their own.

Mama Caroline’s situation reportedly came to the fore after residents appealed to the philanthropist to assist the elderly woman whose home had deteriorated badly over the years.

Touched by her condition, Kemei pledged to help, a promise residents now say she has fulfilled.

In a region where many vulnerable families continue to battle poverty and poor housing, Mama Caroline’s story has resonated deeply with residents.

Many were of the opinion that similar initiatives should reach more needy households across the county.
