They also ensured they prevented life-threatening complications that could have endangered both her life and those of her unborn children.

On Wednesday, May 13, at 34 weeks pregnant, Beatrice successfully delivered her four babies through a Caesarean section.

How many kilos did the quads weigh?

Born prematurely, the four newborns were immediately transferred to the hospital’s Newborn Unit, where they are receiving specialised care.

The babies’ birth weights were recorded as 1,950 grammes, 1,490 grammes, 1,790 grammes and 1,110 grammes.

Despite the emotional and physical challenges of the journey, Beatrice expressed deep gratitude to the medical team that cared for her and her children.

“My deepest gratitude to the entire team at Kenyatta National Hospital. They gave me and my babies a fighting chance,” she said.

World’s surviving nonuplets turn 5

Beatrice Wanja’s quadruplets come days after the world’s only surviving nonuplets celebrated their fifth birthday as they prepare to join school.

Born against extraordinary odds, the nine children of Halima Cissé and Abdelkader Arby have grown into a lively, affectionate brood.

The lot is comprised of brothers Mohammed VI, Elhadji, Oumar and Bah, alongside sisters Kadidia, Fatouma, Hawa, Adama and Oumou.

They hold a Guinness World Record for their unique place in history as the most children delivered at a single birth to survive.
