Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission has raised serious questions over the choice of honourable Kingsley Chinda as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Friday May 22nd, 2026 he pointed out that Kingsley Chinda was not a member of the APC.
Honourable Kingsley Chinda, who currently holds the position of the minority leader in the house of assembly surprisingly emerged as the Rivers State gubernatorial candidate after governor Siminalayi Fubara decided to step aside.
However, while many questioned the choice of honourable Kingsley Chinda, Chidi Odinkalu believed that an electoral law had been violated, pointing daring fingers at the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
