However, on March 25, 2026, communication abruptly stopped, leaving the family worried and confused.

His aunt, Lucy Kinanga, said the silence pushed the family into panic as repeated messages went unanswered for weeks.

In a message dated April 15, Lucy reached out to a person she believed worked with the Russian embassy, pleading for help in locating her nephew.

She went on to explain how the family had been desperately trying to contact Robert without success.

“We have been in touch until March 25 this year. Since then, we have been texting him via Imo, but to no response,” she wrote.

Lucy also shared Robert’s photographs and appealed for any assistance that could help establish his whereabouts.

Sadly, the family would later receive devastating news confirming that Robert had died, shattering their hopes after praying for his safety day and night.

The revelation has sparked sorrow online, with many Kenyans expressing sympathy to the grieving family.

Friends and social media users described the pain of losing a loved one far from home as especially difficult, noting the anguish caused by weeks of uncertainty before confirmation of death finally arrived.
