Lagos Free Zone Crowned West Africa’s Top Trade Hub as Investment Boom Gains Momentum

The Lagos Free Zone has been named the best free trade zone in West Africa at the West African Brands Excellence Awards, which was recently held in Lagos.

The award was presented during an event organised by the Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria to recognise outstanding business achievements across the West African sub-region.

According to the convener and Deputy Registrar of the institute, Ifeoma Emeka, Lagos Free Zone was selected through a rigorous evaluation process by a panel of jurors, and the decision was described as undisputed given the zone’s role in driving economic development in Nigeria and West Africa, particularly through the growth of business activities in the Ibeju-Lekki area.

She noted that the zone has become an important vehicle for attracting foreign direct investment, offering investors strong incentives and world-class infrastructure that support good returns.

The Chief Executive Officer of Lagos Free Zone, Dinesh Rathi, said the recognition reflected the zone’s growing reputation as a top investment destination not just in Nigeria but across the entire West African region.

He added that the award was a testament to the dedication of his team in contributing to the economic prosperity of the sub-region.
