The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has stirred massive emotions online after releasing a powerful photo of soldiers observing Eid prayers right on the battlefield.
The touching photo, shared on the official X page of the Defence Headquarters, showed a soldier praying in the middle of the fight against terrorists as Muslims across Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Kabir with their families.
Sharing the emotional moment, DHQ wrote:
“Barka da Sallah To All Troops At The Frontline. #ForGodandCountry.”
The photo quickly went viral as many Nigerians praised the bravery and sacrifices of the soldiers risking their lives to keep the country safe while others celebrate comfortably at home.
One Nigerian wrote:
“Most Muslims are home with their families celebrating Sallah, but these few are inside the forest keeping us safe. May God protect our troops.”
Another added:
“The real heroes are not those stealing money in Abuja. God bless our soldiers.”
Many Nigerians also called on the Federal Government to improve the welfare of frontline troops, with some demanding better feeding, bonuses and proper support for soldiers battling insecurity across the country.
Others prayed for divine protection, safe return and victory for the military officers fighting terrorists and bandits across different regions.
