According to a report by Adom Online published on May 8, 2026, a woman has accused the biological father of her 15-year-old daughter of sexually abusing the child over several years, allegations she says resulted in pregnancy and HIV infection.…....
The girl, who is reportedly a candidate in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination, had allegedly been living with her father, described as a Police Inspector stationed in Garu, during the period the abuse is said to have occurred.
Speaking during an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme, the mother alleged that the abuse began when the girl was about 10 years old.
According to her, the child once became pregnant and the father allegedly arranged for an abortion at home. She further claimed the girl had been instructed to falsely accuse a teacher if anyone questioned her about the abuse.
“He told her that if anybody asked her anything, she should say it was one of her teachers,” the mother alleged.
She claimed a teacher who attempted to help the child was later arrested before the girl’s testimony reportedly contributed to the teacher’s release.
The mother said the situation became clearer after the girl was taken to a hospital, where a doctor encouraged her to speak openly about her experiences.
According to her, the girl eventually identified her father as the alleged abuser, after which the matter was reportedly referred to police investigators in Bawku.
The mother also alleged that medical examinations later confirmed the teenager was HIV positive.
The case was subsequently reported to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit in Koforidua before being referred to the national headquarters for further investigation.
However, the mother claims there has been little visible progress in the case and expressed fears that the matter may not receive proper attention.
Authorities have not publicly released an official statement responding to the allegations, and the claims remain subject to ongoing investigation.
