Obi spoke with journalists shortly after completing his screening exercise in Abuja, where he addressed questions surrounding the growing discussions about possible contenders for the next presidential contest.…....

He maintained that his attention was not directed at individuals preparing to contest the election.

The former Anambra State governor stated that his political focus remained fixed on issues affecting the country rather than on personalities expected to participate in the presidential race.

He explained that his concern was centred on the future of Nigeria and the need to improve the lives of citizens across the country.

According to him, the goal was to help create a nation where opportunities are available to all citizens regardless of their social status, background, or political connections.

He stressed the importance of building a society where success is determined by merit and hard work instead of influence or privilege.

Obi also indicated that the discussion ahead of the 2027 election should concentrate more on national development and governance.

He said the country required leadership that would address insecurity, economic hardship, and the welfare of the people through policies that promote fairness and inclusion.

During the interaction with journalists in Abuja, Obi further explained that unity and equal representation remained important elements in his political vision for the country.

He noted that governance should reflect the diversity of Nigeria while ensuring that all regions and groups feel represented within the system.

He said, “My priority ahead of the 2027 presidential election is to build a united, secure and prosperous Nigeria through inclusive governance anchored on the constitutional principle of federal character.”
