The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its aerial offensive against insurgents in Borno State, carrying out fresh precision strikes on terrorist enclaves within the Sambisa Forest axis.
The operation, conducted through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, targeted suspected terrorist hideouts and logistics structures at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area of the state.
According to information shared on Tuesday by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the strikes followed credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance reports identifying the locations as active insurgent strongholds.

NAF air assets reportedly executed the coordinated attacks on May 26, 2026, destroying key facilities used by the terrorists and neutralising several fighters in the process.
Military authorities said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to degrade the operational capabilities of insurgent groups operating within the Sambisa Forest and surrounding areas.
“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” the statement said.
The latest airstrikes come amid renewed military offensives aimed at sustaining pressure on terrorist elements in the North-East and disrupting their logistics and operational networks.
