She explained that although Belinda had been discharged from the hospital after delivery, her husband remained admitted as his condition worsened. Sadly, he died three days later.

The tragedy has left many people online deeply moved, with social media users expressing sympathy for the young widow now facing motherhood alone while mourning her husband.

Shiksha said the heartbreaking encounter happened on her birthday, prompting her to make a special appeal rather than receive gifts for herself.

“It was my birthday, and for my birthday gift, I want everyone to support Belinda,” she said.

Her plea quickly attracted messages of condolence and offers of assistance from well-wishers touched by the family’s pain.

Many described the situation as cruel and unfair, noting that the young couple should have been celebrating the arrival of their child rather than preparing for a funeral.

Others called on Kenyans to rally around the grieving mother emotionally and financially as she begins a difficult new chapter raising her baby alone.

The story has once again highlighted the devastating impact pneumonia can have, especially when treatment is delayed or complications arise.
