“They got married in 2013, and like any couple, their marriage had its ups and downs, but they managed. However, in December 2025, my sister told me things had worsened after her husband allegedly had an affair with a fellow soldier,” she said.
Lilian added that the alleged affair led to growing tension in the marriage, eventually forcing Nafula to leave their home in Gilgil, Nakuru County and relocate to Rongo to start afresh.
At the time, her husband had been deployed on a mission in Congo but was reportedly sent home after two months due to a scandal, losing the financial benefits associated with the deployment.
Since her departure, the couple had not been in contact until he later returned to seek forgiveness.

“At first, we did not know he had been sent back from Congo, but some mutual friends informed my sister. People mocked him for letting his wife go, and with his job on the line, he came back apologising for his wrongs,” she shared.
She said this was when he reached out to Nafula, asking to meet her, claiming he had many things he wanted to explain.
Was Nafula killed by her KDF husband?
Sadly, the mother of one agreed and told Lilian she was willing to give her marriage another chance, if only for their daughter, who deserved to grow up in a complete family.
They planned to meet on April 27 in Nakuru, together with their daughter, who was due to return to school.
The grieving sister said Nafula later called her and mentioned that her husband had treated them well that day as they travelled together before dropping their daughter at school the following day.
“A day later, on Wednesday, April 29, at night, the man texted me saying I should tell my mum that Nafula had returned home. I did not think much of it, but from that night we never heard from her again,” Lilian said.

When they tried reaching him, he claimed Nafula had insisted on getting out of the car as they were heading to his village, giving explanations that did not add up.
The family then began searching for her until Monday, May 18, when they received a call from police informing them of her death.
Nafula’s body was found in a hotel room on the morning of April 30 by staff who had gone to clean the room. She was discovered in the bathroom with something tied around her neck, suggesting she had taken her own life.
However, a post-mortem examination later revealed that her neck had been broken and twisted.
“He is freely walking somewhere, not answering our calls and has not explained what happened to my sister. He keeps claiming she took her own life, but that is not true,” the grieving sister said.
