Barr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has said the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ended after a ruling by the Supreme Court of Nigeria confirmed the party’s leadership and convention, as reported by DAILY INDEPENDENT on Thursday April 30 2026.….....
Speaking at a press briefing at his residence in Guzape, Abuja, Wike said the judgment ended the fight over different leadership groups in the party. He added that the court dismissed cases against earlier decisions, which confirmed the party’s current leaders.
Wike also reacted to reports that the court supported the suspension of the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, explaining that the issue was not part of the case and was not decided by the court.
According to Wike, the ruling has ended claims of division in the party and confirmed one leadership.
Wike said,
“Today, the Supreme Court has brought to an end the so-called factions of the PDP. There is no more faction in the party. There is only one PDP.”
