Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has stirred reactions after saying politicians will continue stealing public funds unless Nigerians rise up against them.
Amaechi made the statement on Friday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, where he lamented the state of governance in the country.
According to him, many politicians have continued to impoverish Nigerians, stressing that citizens must begin to hold leaders accountable.
“As a governor of Rivers State at Freedom House in a ceremony organized by Prof Wole Soyinka, I told Nigerians that we the politicians will not stop st£aling if Nigerians don’t stone us.
“The politicians are impoverishing Nigerians. I’m a different politician and there are others as well. A lot of governors have made positive contributions. But governance is slowly dying and it’s quite painful,” he said.
