Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy to the president, has criticised Peter Obi following his exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Obi had on Sunday confirmed his resignation from the party, citing “endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division” within its ranks. He also alleged that the same forces that created instability in the Labour Party (LP) were beginning to infiltrate the ADC.

Reacting in a post on X, Onanuga described Obi as a “political nomad” and a “politician made of jelly,” dismissing the reasons given for his departure as “self-serving.”

The presidential aide further claimed that Obi exited the ADC to avoid a potential contest for the party’s presidential ticket against Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi.

“The political nomad is on the move again,” Onanuga wrote, adding that Obi had chosen “the easy road” rather than confronting internal party competition.

Obi’s latest move adds to ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with key opposition figures reassessing their positions amid internal crises across major parties.
