A video that was posted on the official X account of CHANNELS TV on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 has captured the moment Lagos lawmaker, Desmond Elliot was explaining the reason why he joined other lawmakers to sign the impeachment letter of Mudashiru Obasa.
He made the statement after Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said Desmond Elliot almost made him to lose his job.
In the video that surfaced online, Desmond Elliot stated that he signed the impeachment letter because he taught the order was from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He said he was in South Africa when the impeachment process was initiated.
According to Desmond Elliot;
“I was in South Africa and when I came back, I saw everybody had signed, I thought it was from the President, so I signed. At that time, others who had traveled had returned and also signed.
