Residents near the Green Hollow nature reserve have been sharing a striking image online this week showing what appears to be a large bird with the head of an elderly man perched on a branch.…....
The video has trended quickly across community groups, with some calling it a rediscovered myth and others urging caution.
The image depicts a vulture-like bird with brown and white feathers, standing on a tree limb surrounded by dense foliage. Its most unusual feature is a human-like head with white hair and an open mouth, giving it an almost startled expression.
The image seems to have struck a chord because it resembles mythical creatures found in folklore worldwide hybrids of human and animal that appear in stories from the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Some residents said it reminded them of cautionary tales told by grandparents about respecting the forest and questioning what you see.
As of Thursday, no similar sightings have been reported in the reserve. Park officials say trails remain open and wildlife activity is normal for the season.
