Governor Dikko Radda has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise, held on Thursday at the People’s Square in Katsina, saw delegates and party supporters endorse the governor through a voice vote supervised by officials from the APC national headquarters.
Yakubu Maccido, the chairman of the party’s electoral committee said the affirmation reflected a united decision by stakeholders across the state to return Radda as the party’s standard-bearer for the next governorship race.
According to him, the process was peaceful and complied with the party’s internal guidelines.
Maccido noted that Katsina APC members demonstrated unity and discipline during the exercise, unlike reports of disagreements recorded in some other states during the primaries.
He added that the endorsement further strengthens the governor’s standing within the party as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 election cycle.
Supporters at the venue were seen chanting party slogans and celebrating after the affirmation was concluded.
