Award-winning Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba has opened up about the marital status of late actor Alexx Ekubo.
According to earlier reports, Ekubo reportedly passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Evercare Hospital in Lagos after battling advanced metastatic kidney cancer. In a recent interview, Uchemba revealed that his colleague had actually gotten married before his death. However, when pressed further for clarification regarding the actor’s private life, he maintained that only the family was in the best position to speak on the matter.
“If anything would come out on that, it would be his family. I will respect his will and the fact that he wanted it that way,” he said.
In a related development, actress Uche Jombo also shared details of her visit to Alex Ekubo’s wife following his passing. Taking to Instagram, she revealed that the widow reflected on her late husband with a mix of emotions, alternating between tears and moments of laughter.
She added that she eventually left the visit with a sense of peace and gratitude, expressing appreciation for his life and legacy. “I thank God for your life, for your peace with him in the end. I’m sure you already know we got her. Love you and miss you ikuku,” she wrote.
