Lehlogonolo Katlego Lehlongonolo Katlego ‘Shebeshxt’ Chauke has been granted permission by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court to seek medical treatment during his ongoing legal proceedings.Continue »
The ruling was made today, Friday by Magistrate Felleng Ntilane, who allowed the musician a weekend away from the Polokwane Correctional Facility, with arrangements for him to be held at a police station until his return to court on Monday, 18 May 2026.
The application follows medical concerns raised by the defence, which told the court that Shebeshxt is experiencing complications in his right leg and arm following a previous car accident. Medical testimony in earlier proceedings indicated that a surgical screw in his leg may be loosening, potentially requiring urgent treatment and specialist care
The State did not oppose the application, although the case continues under serious charges including multiple counts of attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and several assault-related offences. Earlier court proceedings confirmed that the matter involves Schedule 6 offences, requiring the accused to show exceptional circumstances for bail considerations
The case, heard at the Polokwane Magistrate Court, has been postponed to 28 May 2026 to allow the State to finalise outstanding charge documents and formally serve them on the defence.
