A video that circulated widely on May 18 captures a disturbing altercation between two workers on top of an unfinished building’s roof frame.
One worker was dressed in an orange outfit while the other wore a white shirt and trousers.
The two were seen fighting before both fell from the structure separately. The worker in white reportedly landed face-first, and bystanders could be heard shouting in Yoruba that a man named Toheeb had struck his head on the ground.
Some online accounts claim he died on impact, though as of May 19, neither the police nor any hospital has officially confirmed his death.
Further speculation arose from claims that the surviving worker was later seen wearing prison clothing, raising questions about whether criminal charges had been filed against him.
The incident has sparked widespread concern and renewed calls for greater safety awareness, particularly around the dangers of physical confrontations in high-risk environments such as construction sites across Nigeria.
