The video, which began trending on Monday, quickly gained attention across multiple social media platforms, triggering intense discussions among users online. It was initially shared on messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram before making its way to blogs, Instagram accounts, and other entertainment websites where it continued to spread widely.

In response to the controversy, Akeem released a statement on Thursday via his Facebook page, where he admitted responsibility for the situation and expressed regret over the incident and its consequences.

He acknowledged the negative reactions the video had generated, including embarrassment and disappointment among those who looked up to him. According to him, he understood the concerns raised and accepted full responsibility for his actions.
Akeem further admitted that his behaviour did not reflect the expectations of those who trusted him, adding that he was sincerely sorry for the fallout caused by the incident.
He also extended a direct apology to his supporters and well-wishers, stating that he regretted letting them down during what he described as a difficult and regrettable moment.
In his words, he emphasised the need for personal reflection and accountability, noting that the experience had prompted him to reassess his conduct both publicly and privately. He added that he was committed to learning from the situation and making better choices going forward.
Akeem also pledged to rebuild trust and uphold higher standards of behaviour as he moves ahead, stating that integrity would be a priority in his future decisions.
Meanwhile, Sisi Alagbo had earlier addressed the controversy on Wednesday through her verified Facebook account. In her statement, she expressed regret over the situation and apologised to those who felt disappointed by the incident, noting that it had taken a toll on her emotional well-being.
Fagbemi rose to popularity through her online promotion of herbal products and wellness content. She also gained additional public attention after a viral moment at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where she was seen kneeling to greet Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
