Renowned cleric, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, has reportedly advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that the fight against terrorism goes beyond neutralizing armed groups, calling for decisive action against their sponsors.
In a statement attributed to him, Adeboye said that security operations should not only focus on eliminating terrorists but also target those who finance and support them, regardless of their status or influence.
“My next advice to the president, in case anyone can get across to them, is that when giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, they should make it clear that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists, they should also eliminate their sponsors no matter how influential they may be,” he was quoted as saying.
