A shocking moment was caught on video when a man tried to grab a toddler from her mother in a supermarket in Bergamo, Italy.…....
The family was leaving the Uscita supermarket when a 47-year-old homeless man from Romania suddenly grabbed the 18-month-old girl. He approached the child as he entered the store and quickly pulled her away from her mom, starting a tug-of-war.
The girl’s father, Matteo, immediately ran to help. Shoppers nearby jumped in to assist, and security guards stopped the man until police arrived. The suspect was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and assault. He is still in custody while police investigate.
The little girl was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but has since been treated and is recovering at home.
Matteo told reporters, “It’s terrifying to see your child in danger. I didn’t think, I just reacted.”
The police are still unclear about why the man tried to take the child, and the video has sparked a lot of reactions online, with many people expressing shock and support for the family.
