In the video, the woman explained that the affected shop owners were confronted by locals armed with sticks and cutlasses, who allegedly ordered them to shut their shops immediately.

The woman appealed to the Ghanaian government and prominent businessman Ibrahim Mahama for assistance in evacuating her and others back to Ghana.
“They’ve attacked us. They’ve asked us to close our shops. Please, Ibrahim Mahama, show us mercy and come pick us up to Ghana. Combine with President Mahama and come to our rescue. They’ve blocked our source of income. Now we cannot pay rent or buy food. They’re chasing us with sticks and cutlasses. They said they don’t need us here,” she said.
The situation reveals ongoing concerns about the safety of foreign nationals in parts of South Africa, where similar incidents of xenophobic attacks have been reported in the past.
The woman’s plea has sparked reactions on social media, with many calling on authorities in both South Africa and Ghana to intervene promptly to protect the lives and businesses of Ghanaians living abroad.
