Northern elder statesman and close ally of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima, has questioned why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would still be afraid of elections despite allegedly enjoying the support of governors across the country.…....
Speaking in a video shared by Platinum TV, Galadima accused President Tinubu of weakening Nigeria’s democratic system through his alleged political influence and control over state structures.
According to Galadima, several governors, including those from Abia, Anambra, and Bauchi states, are allegedly working secretly in support of Tinubu. He claimed that many politicians only want access to political benefits while publicly pretending to belong to the opposition.
In his words:
“Tinubu has destroyed democracy. What he has done through these methods of generating candidates is his way of trying to weaken the opposition because he believes they already control government in the 36 states of the federation. Don’t mind the others because many of them are supporting him secretly. Abia, Anambra, Bauchi and others are telling Tinubu privately, ‘Sir, just allow us get our own share of the cake at home and we will support you.’”
Galadima further stated that with the alleged backing of governors across the federation, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he referred to as the “Emperor of Abuja,” there should be no reason for the president to fear any election.
He said:
“So if the 36 governors and the states, including the emperor here in Abuja, are all supporting you, then why are you afraid of an election?”
