Yusuf Buhari, son of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in Katsina State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to reports, Yusuf Buhari secured a landslide victory with 5,849 votes, defeating his opponent, Auwal Daura, who reportedly polled 21 votes during the primary election.
The APC primary election was held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, amid heightened political interest due to Yusuf Buhari’s entry into active politics following the death of his father.
Yusuf Buhari had earlier declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat under the APC platform, stating that his ambition was driven by a desire to contribute to governance and grassroots development in his constituency.
