A rare albino buffalo, distinguished by its flowing blond hair, has become an unexpected sensation in Bangladesh, drawing considerable attention ahead of the Eid al-Adha festival.
Crowds of curious visitors have flocked to see the animal, many noting its striking resemblance to U.S. President Donald Trump.
The nearly 1,540-lb buffalo, raised on a farm in Narayanganj district near the capital, Dhaka, earned its moniker “Donald Trump” due to a distinctive tuft of pale hair on its forehead.
This feature, many observers agree, mirrors the commander-in-chief’s well-known hairstyle.
Dozens of people have traveled from various districts to the farm daily, eager to take selfies and videos with the unusually colored animal, which has quickly gone viral on social media.
Farm owner Ziauddin Mridha explained the origin of the name: “My younger brother named the buffalo Donald Trump because the hair on the front of its head resembles Donald Trump.”
Mridha also highlighted the animal’s docile nature. “Despite its striking appearance, it is very calm by nature. It is an albino buffalo, and animals of this type are generally gentle and do not become aggressive unless provoked,” he added.
Albino buffaloes are considered a rarity in Bangladesh, where most buffaloes are dark-skinned.
This particular animal’s cream-colored body, pinkish nose, and long blond hair made it stand out among the thousands of cattle prepared for the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha, a time when families traditionally sacrifice livestock.
Mridha noted the buffalo required special care, including being bathed four times and fed four meals daily to maintain its health.
“It needed extra attention and care every day. The buffalo has already been delivered to a customer for sacrifice during Eid,” he confirmed.
In recent years, Bangladesh has seen a trend of unusually large or distinctive sacrificial animals becoming viral Eid attractions, often given celebrity-inspired names to attract buyers and visitors.
The buffalo’s unique appearance and gentle temperament, combined with its namesake, have made it one of this year’s most significant crowd-pullers.
