Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed two suspected kidnappers and rescued an abducted civilian during a raid in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.
In a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, he noted that security sources said the operation took place at about 9:16 a.m. on May 3. It was carried out by troops of the 12 Brigade stationed at the Ofante–Unyi Ogugu Patrol Base, in collaboration with the Police.
The sources told Makama that the troops acted on reliable information about the abduction of a civilian at Orakam village.
According to the sources, the joint team stormed a suspected kidnappers’ hideout at Adego Trailer Park, where they encountered the criminals.
They said two of the suspects were killed during an exchange of gunfire, while others escaped from the scene.
“They added that two kidnappers were neutralised during the exchange of fire, while others fled the scene,” Makama said.
The sources added that the kidnapped victim was successfully rescued during the operation.
One mobile phone and the sum of N40,000 were recovered at the scene.
The sources said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and destroy the criminal network operating in the area.
