Victor Umeh Reveals Private Warning to Kenneth Okonkwo Over Fallout With Peter Obi

Senator Victor Umeh has opened up about his past discussions with actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo regarding his deteriorating relationship with Peter Obi, stating that he warned him against taking a path he might later regret.

Speaking on the matter, Umeh alleged that Kenneth Okonkwo had been heavily critical of Peter Obi and was publicly attacking him. According to the senator, he held private conversations with Okonkwo and advised him to reconsider his position.

“I had private discussions with him and warned him not to do what he is currently doing because he would regret it,” Umeh said.

The senator further claimed that Okonkwo insisted he would never work with Peter Obi again, saying he had vowed not to return even “over his dead body.”

Umeh, however, defended Peter Obi, describing him as an unconventional politician with a different style of leadership. He said he had worked closely with Obi for years and maintained that the former presidential candidate does not engage in money politics.

According to him, Peter Obi has consistently maintained that he would not buy positions or participate in transactional politics in his pursuit of public office.

Umeh argued that Obi’s stance against using money to influence political outcomes has made him unpopular among some political interests.
