According to a report by Sun Nigeria on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, speaking during an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast by Glitch Africa Studios, the actor recalled the last moments he shared with his son before the tragic incident happened.
Edochie said Kambilichukwu came into his room that morning before leaving for school. According to him, they spent time talking and laughing together, especially about the boy’s height because he was very tall.
The actor explained that everything seemed normal before he later received an urgent call that led him to the hospital. Sadly, when he arrived about three hours later, he was met with the shocking sight of his son’s lifeless body.
The emotional revelation has stirred reactions from fans and supporters, many of whom sympathised with the actor and his family over the painful memory.
Kambilichukwu’s death in 2023 attracted widespread attention across Nigeria, with many Nigerians mourning alongside the Edochie family.
In his words, “We gisted and laughed, then he left. About three hours after they called me, I came to the hospital, and I saw him dead like this.”
