According to a report by Punch News on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has revealed that they were able to track former minister of power, Saleh Mamman, with his phone and found him in an apartment in the Rigasa area, Kaduna State.…....
The court convicted Mamman on 12 charges of fraud and money laundering tied to the diversion of N33.8bn from the Mambilla and Zungeru hydropower projects.
According to an officer of the commission who wants to remain anonymous, he said that after the judgment was delivered, they launched a manhunt backed by weeks of surveillance and intelligence work. They eventually located him through his phone and arrested him in an apartment in Rigasa, Kaduna. Two people who sheltered him were also taken into custody.
Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the commission, stated that the former minister was picked up in Kaduna around 3:30 a.m. He said the arrest shows the federal government’s commitment to fighting corruption.
The officer said, “Immediately the judgment was delivered, we spread our dragnet in search of him following weeks of intensive surveillance and intelligence gathering, but we eventually tracked him with his phone and found him in an apartment in the Rigasa area of Kaduna.”
