Troops of 2 Battalion, in conjunction with CSIB V, have arrested two suspected armed terrorists during a night patrol along the Polewire–Birnin Gwari road in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation, conducted at about 2200 hours on June 20, was part of ongoing security patrols aimed at denying terrorists freedom of movement in the area.
Security sources said the troops intercepted the suspects while they were riding on a motorcycle along the axis.
A search of the suspects and their mobile phones reportedly uncovered incriminating videos and images showing them in possession of an AK-47 rifle, along with other evidence linking them to terrorist activities.
The suspects are currently in custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
