Professor Pat Utomi has disclosed that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is preparing an independent election result transmission system ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Utomi, the initiative is designed to enhance transparency and accountability in the electoral process by enabling real-time transmission of polling unit results across the country. He stated that election results from polling units nationwide would be transmitted live and monitored globally through major international media organizations, including CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, Fox News, as well as reputable Nigerian media outlets.
The former presidential candidate explained that the system would serve as an additional layer of oversight, helping to safeguard the integrity of votes and strengthen public confidence in election outcomes.
Utomi also revealed that the NDC plans to deploy a robust network of polling unit agents across Nigeria to monitor voting and collation processes, while ensuring that election officials and party representatives are protected from intimidation during the polls.
