Nollywood actor and philanthropist Williams Uchemba has won the admiration of many Nigerians after paying the outstanding school fees of Somtochukwu, one of the sons of the late veteran actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.
The gesture comes days after Somtochukwu publicly alleged that he had been unable to access his WAEC result due to unpaid school fees. He also made several claims regarding the handling of his late father’s properties and finances, allegations that have generated widespread public discussion.
Following the viral interview, Uchemba took to social media to ask for Somtochukwu’s contact details so he could reach out and offer assistance.
In a new development, the actor fulfilled his promise by settling the outstanding fees, allowing Somtochukwu to return to his secondary school and collect his WAEC result.
A video circulating online shows the emotional moment Somtochukwu, accompanied by a woman, visited his school to complete the payment process and receive his result. In the clip, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to Williams Uchemba for the timely support while proudly displaying his WAEC result.
The kind gesture has earned Uchemba praise from many Nigerians, with several social media users commending him for stepping in to support the young man during a difficult period.
