Nollywood Actor Joseph Momodu Joins U.S. Army, Earns Specialist Rank

Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has officially joined the United States Army, marking a significant milestone in his career and personal life after successfully completing military training and attaining the rank of Specialist (SPC).

Momodu announced the achievement through a statement shared on social media, where he revealed that he completed 10 weeks of rigorous Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The actor described the experience as physically demanding and mentally challenging, noting that it tested his resilience, discipline, and determination.

According to him, his decision to enlist in the U.S. Army was inspired by a desire to honour the legacy of his late father, who served in the Nigerian Police Force. Momodu said the move represents his commitment to continuing a family tradition of service and sacrifice.

The actor disclosed that he enlisted on April 12, 2026, and now serves as Specialist J.A. Momodu with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood.

Reflecting on his training journey, Momodu stated that recruits were subjected to intense physical and mental exercises designed to prepare them for military service. He credited his faith, perseverance, and support system for helping him overcome the challenges encountered during the programme.
