Lagos, Nigeria – Panic and outrage have spread across a Lagos community following a shocking incident involving a woman who sells akara and was allegedly caught mixing a suspicious substance believed by residents to be human remains into beans batter used for making the popular local snack.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident came to light after a customer noticed unusual behaviour from the akara seller while she was preparing her beans mixture. The customer alleged that the woman repeatedly removed a substance from a bag and secretly added it to the ground beans in small quantities.
Speaking about the incident, the witness claimed the woman appeared to be hiding what she was doing while talking to herself. Her actions reportedly raised suspicion among nearby customers.
I noticed she was putting something inside the beans little by little, the witness reportedly said. I asked her what she was adding to the akara mixture, but she immediately replied that it was nothing.
