Anambra Trader Dies While Watching Arsenal-PSG Champions League Final

Mazi Chibuzor Nzediegwu, popularly known as “NZE,” has died after collapsing while watching the UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal F.C. and Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The incident reportedly occurred Saturday, 30 May, 2026 during the second half of the match at a popular viewing centre in Uga, where Nzediegwu had joined other football fans to watch the final. 

Eyewitnesses said he suddenly collapsed and was immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. However, all efforts to save his life proved unsuccessful.

Nzediegwu, who is  native of Umudieleke Umuoru Village in Uga, was a trader known for dealing in live goats, popularly called “Ewu Hausa,” at Orie Uga Market.

Hospital authorities later confirmed him dead, with sources attributing the incident to suspected complications arising from high blood pressure or heart failure, although no official medical report had been released at the time of filing this report.

News of his death has sparked grief across the community, with residents and associates describing the incident as shocking and tragic.

As of press time, family members and loved ones were mourning his sudden passing, while community members reflected on the loss of a familiar trader and football enthusiast whose life was cut short during an evening of sporting excitement.
